Tesla isn't the only carmaker with a flair for dramatic stunts. Rivian has a new feature that helps its R1T pickup and R1S SUV spin like a battle tank.
Rivian will not be adding a "tank turn" feature to its electric vehicles, company CEO RJ Scaringe has confirmed. It would have allowed them to spin in place like a top.
When left-side motors are pushing forward and right-side motors are pulling backward, the pickup can spin on its center axis. The quad-motor configuration puts out 835 hp, Rivian said.
