Microsoft is inching closer to rolling out SQL Server 2016, with the near-final release candidate due out any day now.

Microsoft is making available its first public near-final Release Candidate for its SQL Server 2017 database, which will run on both Linux and Windows Server.

Another key feature in SQL Server 2017 is container support, according to Tony Petrossian, partner group program manager of the Database Systems Group at Microsoft.
