Chicago Bears rookie Colston Loveland made his presence felt when he climbed the ladder to make an impressive contested catch for a big gain.

The Chicago Bears got a welcome sight on Saturday when rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland joined the rest of the offense on the field and started getting integrated with the unit. Loveland missed all of the spring practices and first days of training camp while rehabbing from an offseason shoulder surgery to repair an AC joint injury.

"Everyone walked away from that interaction feeling like they had some connection with him," said Iowa Cubs assistant general manager Randy Wehofer, who was the team's broadcaster at the time. "And it was pretty unbelievable to see.

Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg, who was a fixture at the position for the Chicago Cubs, has died at the age of 65.
