Starting May 7, if you don't have a REAL ID — or another acceptable form of identification — you will not be able to board an airplane.
New York state also offers an Enhanced ID, or Enhanced driver’s license, which is accepted for Real ID purposes on flights and for crossing borders to and from Canada and Mexico.
