Roblox has made a name for itself as a massive platform appropriate for various ages. Although it appeals to a broad range of people, children and adolescents are its target demographic.

Roblox says the new settings and features are in place to better protect children, not to restrict them. As children age, their accounts will automatically release certain gated content.

However, kids under 13 make up a huge portion of Roblox’s users. According to a February 2022 SEC filing, 22% of users are under 9 and 23% are between the ages of 9 and 12.
