You can fine-tune the combination by opening multiple files in separate tabs in PDF-XChange Editor and dragging thumbnail images of the page you want from the source tab to the target tab.

The files will begin to upload to PDF Joiner (this could take a few minutes, depending on how many and how large your files are). Click Join Files in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

However, if you do not want to do that, you can always open PDF files in Protected View in Word. It helps you block any macros from running right after opening the file in Word.
