After several years in the developmental wilderness, venerable 3D animation software LightWave 3D is being resurrected by a new owner, LightWave Digital.

LightWave 3D, the 3D product from NewTek, will be on every Mac and Windows system in the Studio, an interactive classroom at the SIGGRAPH 2001, which runs Aug. 12-17 in Los Angeles.
