The Move to iOS app is designed to transfer your data from Android to iOS. However, things are not so smooth when it comes to moving your WhatsApp chats.

Prior to this, WhatsApp users making the move from Android to iOS had to give up their chat histories (or find extremely convoluted ways to port their data over).

On your iPhone or iPad, begin the normal setup process until you reach the Apps & Data screen. From here select the "Move Data from Android" option. A 10-digit code will then appear on the screen.

After years of patiently waiting, WhatsApp users finally have the tools to help users move their chats from Android to iOS.

To start the process, Android users need to download the "Move to iOS" app from the Google Play Store. This can be done directly on the Android device, or via the web-based version of the store.

On Wednesday, shortly after iOS 9’s official release, Apple also released ‘ Move to iOS,’ its first ever app for Android users, created with the sole intention to make them leave.
