Gabriel Alvarez, 22, of Goldbach Drive in Stratford, died of injuries sustained in the shooting in the Bronx, the New York City Police Department said in a news release Tuesday. Officers responded to a 911 call of two males shot in the 500 block of Brush Avenue at 6 a.m., police said, noting the scene falls within the confines of the 45th Precinct.
The Nevada man who opened fire inside a Manhattan skyscraper and killed four people, including a New York City officer, was the son of a retired officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, multiple law enforcement sources tell NBC Los Angeles Tuesday. The sources said Shane Devon Tamura’s father, Terence Tamura, served 27 years at the LAPD.
