Joseph Czuba had been sentenced to 53 years in prison for the hate-crime murder of Palestinian American boy Wadee Al Fayoumi and stabbing of his mother, Hanan Shaheen in Plainfield in October 2023.

Fields, the former Bears starter, wore his helmet as he spent most of practice on the sideline and with the rest of the offense while appearing to walk without a noticeable limp.
